Several of Big Walnut's administrators and staff will be presenting to education professionals from all over the state at the Ohio Department of Education's Race to the Top conference, Connecting the Dots: Diving Deeper into Ohio's Education Reform.
On March 22, Gary Barber - assistant superintendent, Angie Pollock - director of academic achievement, Peggy McMurry - elementary principal, and Erin Barr - intervention specialist, will be giving their presentation called "Collaboration and OTES: The Long and Winding Road." The session is described as:
At Big Walnut, we are participating in our second year piloting OTES. We have trained all staff on SLOs, written SLOs at every level, and provided our staff with professional development on the OTES process and tools. We will share our journey of collaboration between our teachers and administrators as we have worked through this process with our evaluation committee.
We are really proud of the work that our staff has been doing to collaborate and prepare for the new evaluation system. It is an honor for our district to have this group presenting at this conference!
