I wanted to provide a quick update for families. As of right now, we are still planning to have school on Monday, March 16, but given the nature of this constantly-changing situation, that could change with new developments. Students will not have classes from Tuesday, March 17-Friday, March 27 (which includes a week of spring break). Beginning on Monday, March 30, students will be given remote learning opportunities. Teachers will be expected to provide daily communications via Schoology beginning on March 30. As a reminder, please be sure to log in to Schoology if you have not already done so, and let the building secretary know if you do not have access to the internet.
If your children are currently receiving free or reduced meal benefits, we will be providing breakfast and lunch during the period of March 17-March 20 and March 30-April 3. Please contact Linda Klamfoth either by email at email@example.com or 740.965.8958 for details or if you have questions. Meals will not be available from the school during spring break. However, if anyone needs assistance with food or in general, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and the wonderful Big Walnut Neighborhood Bridges group will help. Thanks again to all of our community members who are helping to support families during this time.
Finally, don’t forget that in the midst of this chaos, our District has a renewal issue on the ballot. Please remember to vote on March 17. This is a continuing renewal on taxes you are already paying and represents 12% of our operating budget. As always, please reach out if you have questions.
